An antique Coalbrookdale bench
Item no 406

An antique aesthetic-style garden bench with original timber lathes on cast-iron end supports with a tie bar underneath. The cast-iron ends are clearly stamped 'C-B Dale Co' with a registration kite mark and the model no. 217569. This bench was designed for Coalbrookdale by Dr Christopher Dresser and the design was first registered in March 1868. It has been cleaned and repainted (Cooking Apple Green).
