| Item no 1005
An antique lead pump decorated with the initials 'IC' and with the resonant date 1815 (Battle of Waterloo, Eruption of Tambora). These lead pumps were used to draw water from wells before the more familiar cast-iron pumps were developed in the 19th Century and were usually encased in wooden boards except for the decorated front face. They can be effectively combined with an old stone trough to make a self-circulating water feature.
Early 19th Century
36" high
£280 (EUR 348, USD 443)
