A large antique, sandstone trough, rectangular in shape with high riven sides and a very attractive covering of moss and lichen. This type of deep, thick-walled trough were often installed in a farmyard or coaching inn to hold drinking water for horses, and other large farm animals such as oxen, and the trough is still watertight so could be used as part of a water feature. From a village near Shrewsbury in Shropshire.
