An old D-end pump trough.

An old sandstone pump trough with a typical bowed front and good planting depth and with a drainage hole in one front corner. Troughs of this type were originally positioned under a well pump and used for washing clothes and cleaning utensils. This is a good example from The Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.
