An old Compton pottery terracotta bowl on base, the bowl decorated with a continuous scrolling pattern. The Compton pottery was founded by Mary Watts towards the end of the 19th century and was one of the more successful Arts & Crafts Guilds selling under its own name and also making terracotta goods for Liberty in London. This is a large version of their Celtic pot.
