| Item no 730
An antique composition-stone fountain with a circular scalloped bowl on a leaf-cast column surrounded by three preening herons. The deeply indented bowl makes this a very effective fountain when working and an attractive centre-piece for a formal pool. Most surviving Victorian fountains are cast-iron but there were also specialist businesses making fountains in composition-stone during the 19th Century, and this is a rare surviving example.
2nd half 19th Century
31" diameter x 45" high
