A carved limestone garden statue of a standing putto playing a pipe. Almost certainly Italian, the subject of a putto (or cherub) playing a musical instrument has long been a popular theme in garden decoration. The figure is older than it looks and the lack of a weathered patination probably means it has been recently cleaned or has been kept inside.
The composition stone plinth is a good match in terms of size and colour and is also available if required for £250.
19th or early 20th century.
The statue measures 12" x 11" x 38" high.
The plinth measures 14" x 14" x 25" high.
