David Norris; an elegant modern bronze figure of a young girl standing tiptoe with her left arm raised and supporting a montage of three small birds. Modelled in part on one of David's children this figure is plumbed and can be used as a fountain with the water emerging from the girl's raised hand. It was originally called 'Golden Girl' because of its gold coloured colouration which has now oxidised to a typical blue/green patination. It is inscribed on the base 'D.Norris 1981' and also has the edition number, 2 of 12.
David Norris is a highly regarded sculptor based in London and is a fellow of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. He has executed a number of successful commissions including some complex large scale works of birds in flight. His larger works for outdoors are generally cast in either bronze or stainless steel.
