A pair of antique sandstone tall urns from the Scottish Highlands, each urn body profusely carved with grape vines and raised on an integral square socle. They were bought privately over 50 years ago by the previous owner who described them as having come from a 'castle near Dalwhinnie', but the exact provenance is not known. They are unusual urns with intricate naturalistic carving which suggests that they are late 19th century when there was a widespread fashion for natural themes but they may be earlier.
