A weathered composition stone bust of Bacchus on a matching round column. This is an example of Haddonstone's Bust of Bacchus and is well weathered after many years outside in a Shropshire garden. Bacchus was a Roman god associated with agriculture, especially the growing of vines and the wine made from them, and has long been a popular subject for garden statuary. The combination of bust and column makes a striking and well balanced large garden feature.
The price and dimensions are for the bust only. The column in the photo is Haddonstone's Tuscan Column and is available separately if required, dimensions 16" diameter x 41" high, price £500.
Late 20th century.
