A pair of limestone finials carved as baskets filled with fruit and flowers. These finials are not especially big but are carved in an unusual design with a hoped handle on the basket which makes them choice garden ornaments. This type of finial has long been popular as garden decoration, especially in Italianate gardens, because they symbolise the idea of a garden being a bountiful source of flowers and produce. This pair have been stored inside for a while and it is difficult to be sure of their age but they are probably Edwardian.
Priced as a pair.
Probably early 20th Century.
