An unusually tall antique staddlestone from West Shropshire with lots of character, the mossy top raised on a separate tapered base. The top is a made from ironstone while the base is a pink sandstone. The use of different stones is not unusual with antique staddlestones, the heavy base was usually made from the local stone but the top was sometimes bought in from another area if the stone was considered to be more durable.
