A vintage Cretan oil jar in generally sound condition, the upper half with surface residues of limewash. High fired terracotta Pithari of this type were originally used as storage vessels, especially for foodstuffs, but have long been re-used in garden settings. This is a large example with great potential to be a focal point in a long view, such as at the end of a path.
NB, diameter given is across the rim only.
