Two Old Cheese Press Stones

Item no: 1691

Two old cheese press stones from Worcestershire each carved from sandstone with grooves at each end and with an iron eye bolt in the top which was used for raising and lowering the stone. These two stones are similar in size and weathering and could be used together as a plant stand or architectural element. They could also be used together as a mounting block for horse riders if turned upside down so that the eyebolts are not a potential trip hazard.

18th/19th Century

29" x 20" x 20" high
