Antique Stone Mortar

An unusual ovoid shaped stone planter made from a dark coloured natural stone. Bought from a North Midlands collection, the origin of this planter is unknown but it appears to be an early stone mortar. Now with a drainage hole through the base it makes an interesting and unusual garden planter, internal dimensions 11" diameter x 9" deep.
