Antique Limestone Sundial

An antique limestone sundial, the tapered square column carved with ribbon tied swags and raised on a weathered panelled composition stone base. This is a pretty and elegant sundial given more physical presence by the associated square base. The square stone top has been taken back to a sound surface which now drains properly reducing frost risk and it should weather up readily outdoors. The 12" square bronze plate is engraved with the motto 'life is short, time is swift' and stamped in two places with the name 'Massey' who was either the maker or a previous owner.
