Antique Stone Stone Sundial

An antique sundial, the portland stone square top on a carved bath stone column and separate square limestone base. The brass dial is well inscribed with directional calibrations and the motto 'Tempus Fugit' together with some verse reading 'Of shade and sunshine for each hour, see here a measure made, then wonder not if life consist, of sunshine and of shade'.

This is a tall and interesting sundial with plenty of presence. The bath stone column is possibly earlier than the portland stone top and bronze plate which may have been added later.
