An unusual weathered garden bench, the long hardwood rails supported by three heavy cast-iron supports with lion mask terminals on the arms. The end supports each have ERII within a laurel roundel and also the name 'Henton and Chattell, Nottingham'. This bench was probably made to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. There is an anecdotal story that it was once at Chartwell, Winston Churchill's home in Kent, which is possibly true since Churchill lived there until his death in 1965.
