Vintage Teak Bench

A vintage teak bench of traditional design with shaped arms and a sturdy frame. This bench was formerly painted and has recently been cleaned and repainted by hand (Farrow and Ball Old White colour).  There is an almost illegible round label on one end for the Castles Shipbreaking Company of London who were leading makers of garden furniture during the Victorian and Edwardian eras using recycled teak from decommissioned ships. This bench is described in an advertisement of 1913 as the 'Apollo' bench.
