A vintage stone birdbath carved from limestone, the round basin surmounted by a lead putto and raised on a square baluster column. This is a very classy garden ornament which is large enough to be a stand alone focal point. It dates from the early 20th century when there was a revival of interest in garden design and ornaments resulting from the Arts and Crafts movement. The lead cherub would have been made by one of the lead workshops operating in London such as H. Crowther, Chiswick.
Early 20th Century.
