Antique Tethering Stones (Two)

Two similar antique tethering stones from Lincolnshire, the rectangular sandstone blocks each inset with an iron ring. Originally used to tether grazing farm animals in a farming era before ubiquitous barbed wire fences, these genuine old rural artefacts are unusually substantial, one is just about carriable by one man.
