Antique Stone Lion

An antique stone lion from Lincolnshire lying down on a rectangular base.  Carved from limestone this lion has suffered considerable losses from frost damage over the years which is fortunately largely disguised by it's weathered patination.  Genuine antique lions are scarce and this example still retains lots of interest and charm especially around the head and mane.

Probably early 19th Century
