Vintage Garden Statue

A vintage garden statue of a large stone putto playing the horn. Carved from limestone, it is probably Italian where statues of putti ,or cherubs, playing musical instruments are traditional garden ornaments. It is, however, unusual to find a putto playing this particular large instrument which is difficult to carve. This whimsical statue was formerly in a garden in Sussex and has a well established covering of moss.
