Italian Terracotta Statue of Flora

An Italian terracotta statue of Flora depicted standing, holding a cluster of different flowers. This statue has been outside in the English weather for a number of years and is lightly weathered.

The statue is stamped on the base 'MITAL Terrecotte Impruneta made in Italy'. MITAL are a long established family business based in the Tuscan community of Impruneta, south of Florence, an area which is renowned for producing high quality terracotta using the local clay. This statue is an excellent example of the handmade and very detailed terracotta produced by MITAL which is fired to a high temperature to ensure it is durable when exposed to the elements.
