A rectangular stone trough from the Leek area of Staffordshire raised on two stone supports. This was originally a stone gate post which has been hollowed out on one side, possibly originally to make a feeder for farm animals. Although not very deep, approx 5" internally, this is a sizeable trough which is currently attractively planted with a variety of succulents.
18th/19th century.
