An old cider mill from a farm on the Cotswold escarpment overlooking Cheltenham but made from Monmouthshire gritstone. The effort required in a horse-drawn age to transport large lumps of stone over long distances is mind boggling and shows the importance of cider making before the industrialisation of farming. This is an especially good example of an old cider mill with the base consisting of only two neatly cut stones.
96" diameter.
18th/19th century.
