Large Stone Trough

A fine large stone trough from near Dursley, Gloucestershire, with a rounded front and straight back. This trough is in exceptionally good condition for it's age with a very good weathered patination and no frost damage or cracks. It is also an unusually large trough for it's type with a finely worked bowed front. 

NB. There are several small holes in the sides and base which have been drilled in the past for drainage and which probably partly account for its good condition. They could be filled if required for example if the trough is to be filled with water.
