An antique stone horse trough from Herefordshire with a bowed front and straight back making it ideal to go against a wall. The term horse trough traditionally referred to large water troughs, usually in a farm yard, which provided clean drinking water for large farm animals, especially working horses. Carved from a single block of sandstone this is an excellent example with a lovely colour and mossy patination and is deep enough to plant with large plants such as wall climbers.
