Large Sandstone Horse Trough

A large rectangular sandstone trough from Derbyshire with riven sides and a well established weathered patination. This 'horse trough' would originally have been communal water trough in a farmyard, particularly for large farm animals such as draught horses. There are some non structural cracks following natural laminations on one side so this trough is no longer suitable for holding water but it is an excellent deep trough for planting.
