Antique Sandstone Round Trough

An old rough hewn stone trough from West Herefordshire with a roughly round cavity. This looks like an early stone trough but without any provenance it is difficult to date old stone artefacts accurately, this trough could be 200 years old or 600 years old or even older. It was probably originally a farm water trough but now makes a characterful garden planter with a drainage hole on one side (internal planting depth 9").

18th c or earlier.
