Antique Sandstone D-ended Trough

An antique sandstone D-ended trough from Shropshire, long and rectangular in shape with a bowed front and several half round notches in the sides for water pipes. This trough is unusually long and may have originally been a farmhouse pump trough which was later adapted as a water trough for farm animals, hence the half round notches.

18th or 19th century.
