Antique Large Stone Trough

An antique sandstone trough from Shropshire, oblong in shape with an original drainage hole through one corner. Troughs with an asymmetrical shape like this one are usually earlier and have been carved entirely by hand without using tools such as a stone saw. This example is comparatively large with good internal planting depth, internal depth approximately 7".

18th century or earlier.
