Large Cretan Beehive Jar

A very large terracotta beehive jar with boldly moulded horizontal rings and a plain collared neck. This is a modern interpretation of the classical Cretan beehive jar and is made to a very high standard, especially considering it is entirely handmade and required firing to a high temperature in a kiln. This type of pot makes a great stand alone garden feature but is also very effective as a water feature with water rippling over the ribbed sides. 

There is a maker's stamp on the rim reading 'Bolonakis Brothers Hania Crete Year 2000'.
