An old slate water tank constructed from large slate sections fitted together and bound by iron tie bars at each end. A feature of this tank is that it still holds water and it could be used as part of a circulating water feature. Tanks of this type were traditionally used in kitchen gardens to store rainwater from green houses and similar buildings.
